Creator Profile Claiming Is Now Available

18.07.2026

Creator profiles on Soundkino are becoming more useful and more accountable.

If your work has been imported from Reddit, you can now claim the creator profile connected to your name. The goal is simple: one creator page, one public identity, and a clear way for the actual creator to manage the Soundkino side of that presence.

How profile claiming works

The fastest route is Reddit verification.

When you log in with Reddit, Soundkino checks whether your Reddit account name matches the creator name on Soundkino. If the names match, the profile can be connected to your Soundkino account.

This protects creators from random account takeovers while keeping the process lightweight for people whose Reddit identity is already public.

Manual claims are still available

Names are not always clean. Maybe you changed your Reddit account. Maybe your creator name has punctuation, spacing, or casing differences. Maybe the import came from an older identity.

For those cases, Soundkino still supports manual profile claims. You can submit proof, explain the situation, and wait for review.

That manual path matters because creator identity is not just a technical string comparison. Sometimes it needs context.

What changes after a profile is claimed

A claimed creator profile gives listeners one clean place to find your work on Soundkino.

Uploaded audios and imported Reddit posts can appear together on the same public creator page. That means listeners do not need to know where a recording originally came from. They can just follow the creator.

Creators can also see their full audio list from the account area. Uploaded audios remain editable by the creator. Imported Reddit audios are shown for visibility, but they cannot be edited or deleted from Soundkino like native uploads.

Why imported audios are read-only

Imported Reddit posts are references to public posts from another platform. They are useful for discovery, charts, tags, and creator pages, but they are not the same as audio files uploaded directly to Soundkino.

Keeping imported items read-only avoids accidental changes to external context and keeps the distinction clear:

  • Uploaded audios are creator-managed Soundkino content.
  • Imported Reddit audios are discovery entries connected to the creator.

One profile, not separate worlds

This update is part of a broader cleanup across Soundkino. Creator pages now use the normal /creators/name format, regardless of whether the work started as a direct upload or an imported post.

That is how it should feel to listeners too: not "Soundkino creator" versus "Reddit creator," just the creator and their work.
